The actual local spelling of Santa Ponsa is Santa Ponça the ç is pronounced s

as in sat.

has grown in and around a wide and deeply recessed sparkling blue bay, edged by pines and sun-bleached sands. The main beach, with its large expanse of white sands, is popular with both holidaymakers and locals, but there is a smaller, quieter beach to the south. Many watersports are available, as are tennis, bicycle hire and golf. Santa Ponsa achieves a good balance between both beach and nightlife. Discos, clubs and bars, particularly Irish bars with live music, provide a fun atmosphere in Santa Ponsa, with dozens of restaurants. There are also good facilities for self catering stays.

Visit in September when the annual 'Moors and Christians' festival takes place, with a battle on the beach and a medieval market.

Santa Ponsa is the location of the landing of King James I (Rei Jaume 1) Christian army when it ousted the Moors from the island

Located 30 km from Palma on Majorca's southwest coast. It's easy to reach the rugged north west coast from Santa Ponsa, and explore the pretty villages and incredible views.

Santa Ponsa Windmill

The Windmill is located on the C-719 Carretera Palma - Anratx roadand the junction of Avinguda Rei Jaume 1

There are a good selection of bars and late-night venues on offer, particularly Irish bars with live music, providing a great atmosphere. A handful of discos and clubs are also available for those seeking a night on the tiles.

The Square has a lively atmosphere in the evening created by the pavement cafés and open air bars and a central stage where entertainmnt for kids and later for adults is performed.

The Strip, the road called Ramon de Montcada, is full of bars, with one section crammed with Irish bars
