Bib Rambla Square
- Bib Rambla Square was the first Bullring in Granada
Bib Rambla Gate (Puerta Bibarrambla)
Also Known as: Bab al-Ramla in Arabic, Arco de las Orejas - Gate of the Ears - from the custom of nailing criminals cut off ears to the balcony.
Gate of the Ears as it stood circa 1830 by Scottish painter David Roberts.
History of Bib Rambla Gate
- It has an unusual history.
- It was built around the 11-12th century by the Moors
- It was the only entrance to Bib Rambla Square, which was totally enclosed by buildings & walls.
- It was not built as a defensive gate and therefore it was a little more artistic in its design.
- The Christians built a small chapel within it

Sacromonte
- The Sacromonte district is just to the east of the Albaicin outside the City Walls.
- It is the Gypsy Quarter because Gypsies were not allowed to live within the City Walls
- The Gypsies Made there homes in Caves, later fronting the cave with a small building extension with doors & windows.
The Jewish Quarter (Realejo)
- The Jewish Quarter has two separate characteristic areas:
- The flat area, which is full of Tapas Bars & terraces.
- The hillside area rising towards The Alhambra, with steep narrow streets in going up & down the hill & fairly level streets running at 90 degrees
- In the Muslim era the area was called called Granada of the Jew (Garnata al-Yahuds).

- Nearest airport is Granada International Airport also known as Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport. Don't be confused by the Jaén in te name. I's only about 9.4 miles (15 km) west of Granada and 62.5 miles (100 km) south of Jaén.
