Benalmadena is known as one of the nightlife centres on the Costa del Sol. The nightlife is located in 5 main locations
- 24 Hour Square
- The Marina
- Bonanza Square and also the along the Bonanza road
- Ole Square
- Along the sea front are plenty of cafe bars rather than pub type bars
24 Hour Square (Plaza Sol y mar) Nightlife Area

24 Hour Square Description
- 24 Hour Square is the nickname of Plaza Sol y Mar.
- 24 Hour Square is the main nightlife centres in Benalmadena for the young noise loving crowd. Many people, usually older consider it to be larger loutish.
- It is wall to wall bars & clubs and some fast food outlets
- Covid caused a serious break in popularity, similar to most resorst. Causing the closure of 5 of it's previosly popular venues. Fortunatly these venues have been bought and reopened into now 2 massive venues Makai Club and Nösha Vip Club.
- The Square is now on its way to it's formerglory days.
- The bar prices are much lower than those in the Marina Area
- 24 Hour Square is not as chic as the Marina Area
- One club remains open until around 7am
- Many of the bars offer 2 drinks for the price of 1
- In the height of the season July & August Plaza Solymar is crowded with the young end of the bar trade. At other times the average age is more in the 30's.The spanish much later drinkers than the brits invade the square well after midnight especially at weekends.
- In winter many of the bars are only open at the weekend

The marina area is more chic & upmarket than 24 Hour Square and the prices are correspondingly higher. There is a good selection of Bars, Disco & Clubs and even more Restaurantws

- Another Popular nightlife area, but this time with an older clientel.
- The square is pretty with a small park with trees bench seats and a central small park with a rectangular pool with a fountain .
- The bars are located around the square & also on the main road, Av. Antonio Machado, side of Ole Shopping Centre.

Mississippi Willow Description. How it used to be
- Mississippi Willow was a ship moored in Benalmadena Marina & styled like a Mississippi Paddle Steam boat.
- Was used for a dancing the nightclub & offered an entertaining night and often has concerts, flamenco and the Willow Dixieland Jazz Band.
- Since then it closed down and became very neglected.
- Then it half sunk, resting on the bottom.
- Latest In 2023 a court ruling has ordered the owner to remove the boat.
