Illetes Beaches
Illetes has 3 main beaches and a few more very small beaches set in small rocky coves surrounded by hotels. At least one possibly more are private to the neighbouring hotel

Illetes Beach
- Illetes Beach is the most popular beach and has fine golden sand and is smallish being 200 X 50 metres.
- It has a car park and the local information office say
- Wheelchair access but also access was via steps. There is quite a descent from the road on the top of the backing cliffs.
- Sun loungers and parasols are available along with pedalos.
- There is a life guard post, bars and restaurants and with it's calm water the beach is very suitable for families with small children.
- Backing the beach at higher levels are terraces with a selection of good bars / cafes / restaurants.
- From the main road a side road with a hairpin bend leads down to a car park.
- The beach continues to the north to concrete sun terraces in front of a hotel and above the rocky shoreline.
- There is a bus stop on the main road

Cala Contesa Beach
- The smallest of the 3 beaches, 35 X 10 metres. It is a beautiful beach with sand and flat rock areas.
- A beach bar serving snacks. .
- The beach is separated from the road by 10 - 20 metres of pine forest.
- The islet Illa de sa Caleta lying 200 metres out and the narrow rocky low headland give the beach protection from waves..
- On the other side of this headland with a square tower on it, is a second islet Illa de sa Torre. These 2 islets give the name to Illetes.
- To the rear of the beach lies the abandoned military fort that dates from the end of the 19th century.
- The tower on the narrow headland was used as a watch and signal tower, 1 of several along the Calvia coastline

Es Fortí beach
- Es Fortí beach is located on the other side of the rocky headland a larger beach, 180 X 25 metres, with sandy, pebbly and rocky areas.
- Also between the 2 beaches is a private area, a beach club for the military.
- The rocky areas are ideal for snorkeling

Small Coves
- There are a few small coves between north of Illetes beach, both public and private.

Shopping in Illetes
- There are a few shops in Illetes for immediate needs and the magnificent shops of Palma are only a very cheap bus ride away on the very frequent, every 10-15 minutes No. 3 bus Route.
- Also on the same bus route located between Illetes and central Palma is the excellent Porto Pi shopping centre.
Hippocampes Diving Centre
- The Hippocampes Diving Centre is a PADI diving school located right on the waters edge on Illetes beach, just after the central rocky outcrop. It caters for absolute beginners to experts in scuba diving.
- Snorkeling and / or scuba instruction
- English is spoken by all the staff
